BandMate24
The BandMate hardware provides 24 channels of analogue output to feed to the live console. This allows the sound engineer to blend the replayed audio with your live performance for the best possible audience experience.
BandMate can replay multichannel audio material (up to 24 channels) alongside MIDI data for the control and update of MIDI equipment (such as effects pedals, lighting controllers, etc).
BandMate hardware is housed in a 19” 1RU case which will typically be sited either at the mixing console or at the stage box to the side of the stage.
As well as the 24 individual balanced outputs to drive a stage box or mixing console, Bandmate also sends outputs 23 & 24 to an unbalanced stereo TRS jack for a mixed output from the box to work with small individual PA systems. The outputs include protection circuitry against inadvertent phantom power damaging the electronics. An earth lift switch separates the system ground from the output ground to help with eliminating earth (hum) loops.
BandMate replays material according to a Playlist (aka setlist) which organises and preloads which song to play next after the current song is finished. Audio and MIDI data and playlists are stored on a local USB memory stick.
BandMate playback can be controlled and triggered using any of the following: Front Panel, Footswitch, MIDI command, Remote Control app.
Source files must be standard mono wav files. 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates are both supported but all songs within a single playlist must be at the same rate. There is no sample rate conversion in the BandMate
Large LCD colour front panel display shows the playlist, the current song name and playback time and next song in the playlist.
Each channel has a front panel LED display to show that an audio track is present and indicate when there is signal present. The MIDI output also has LED indicators
The playlist and song can be selected using the multifunction rotary control which also accesses the menus for setup and configuration
